I want to tell you about Dubai SKI, a theme park in Dubai. It is the only ski resort in the Middle East.
It is an artificial ski complex in one of the hottest cities in the world. Standing in 40-degree heat, you get the strange feeling that people in jackets and down coats are skiing behind the glass. There are even people who are seeing snow for the first time — their delight is indescribable, you have to see it to believe it! It is, so to speak, a miniature resort with lifts, slopes, snow and penguins that you can feed for an extra fee.
The experience is great. The slopes are easy, not difficult, but to ski in peace, it’s better to arrive at 9 a.m. when there are fewer people. The equipment rental shop provides everything except hats and gloves, so if you decide before your trip that you will be spending a few hours in the ‘winter’, it’s better to bring them from home. The ticket price includes equipment rental (but if you decide to bring everything from home, you will get a 10% discount (5% on clothing and 5% on equipment).
The complex has 5 slopes of varying difficulty and a separate track for snowboarders. The price is a bit steep, with a full-day ticket costing 300 AED and a two-hour ticket costing 180 AED. The price for children is slightly lower, but I can’t remember the exact amount. We bought a two-hour ticket, which was enough for us. You will need to buy a separate ticket for Snow Park, which costs 100 AED for adults and slightly less for children.
For those who don’t know how to ride, you can hire an instructor.
Overall, if you’re looking for something exotic, this place is worth a visit.
