In the morning, you can swim in the sea or go jeep driving in the endless desert, and after lunch, put on your hats and gloves and tackle the slopes on skis, snowboards or sledges…
Ski Dubai is the first and only indoor ski resort in the Middle East, offering an excellent sporting holiday. It is located south of Dubai, on Sheikh Saeed Road, in the Al Barsha zone. Against the backdrop of the Arabian desert and the hot sun, a skiing holiday in the UAE looks very exotic. The amount of snow and the temperature on these slopes, of course, do not depend on the weather or the time of year. Thus, skiing tours in the UAE are available both in winter and summer. Despite the country’s subtropical climate, where summer temperatures can reach 50°C, the ice palace maintains a temperature of -1°C to -2°C all year round, and it even snows. Special lighting creates the illusion that you are skiing in nature. One can imagine the level of investment in this snow attraction, considering that the cost of the equipment for producing artificial snow falling from the ceiling alone is $55 million. Incidentally, the snow cover on the slopes is renewed daily. The entire building that houses Ski Dubai is as tall as a 25-storey building and covers an area of 22,500 square metres. It features a wide 400-metre slope with a 62-metre vertical drop, five trails of varying difficulty with a half-pipe, caves with stalactites and bizarre ice sculptures, a slope for snowboarders, a wide selection of slopes of varying inclines and the world’s largest snow playground. There is a ski trail designed for both beginners and experienced athletes, ice rinks, slalom and a suspended cable car. There is also a 3,000 square metre snow park with a variety of interesting snow activities. Ski Dubai can accommodate 1,500 visitors at a time. You don’t need to worry about equipment and ski gear, as everything, including professional instruction, is provided by the ski resort.
